Bergplaats Game Farm welcomes you to the heart of the Central Karoo, where the grandeur of God's nature lies unspoilt. Situated 80 kilometres outside the historical town of Beaufort West, Bergplaats is a place where travellers can come to replenish their souls. The vast beauty of the semi-arid landscape stretches to the horizon under a canopy of the richest blue sky, and herds of antelope graze across the rolling hills.

Bergplaats covers 8500 hectares of pristine Karoo land set against the backdrop of a towering, rugged mountain. The farm accommodates 18 people in its suite of comfortable housing facilities, ranging from the luxurious to the authentic farm-style. A lodge on the mountain , God's Window, offers a secluded haven for those seeking tranquility and contemplation. The main facility - Gemsbok Lodge - is adjoined by an open air lapa, where guests dine and converse and make merry under the spectacular, star-studded Karoo night sky. Vrolijkheid Lodge gives visitors a typical farm experience in an authentic Karoo farmhouse with 3 bedrooms.

A range of activities awaits the traveller to Bergplaats. Intrepid souls can explore the stunning surrounds on horseback, while adventure-seekers can take to the veldt on one of our four-by-four tracks or quad biking routes. Nothing beats a sunset game drive in pursuit of the various species of antelope, including gemsbok, blue wildebeest, Eland & zebra, that populate the vast tracts of land. Bergplaats offers a world-class hunting experience and boasts its very own on-site butchery, where hunters can participate in the processing of their own meat, should they wish.
